HOW TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER YOUR GAINING FAT OR MUSCLE
Any one who is trying to bulk up might fear about this , Am I gaining a lot of Fat. If yes how do I figure it out .How to gain more muscle than fat? There are various ways from which you can find out what is that you are gaining , fat or muscle.
1.Check your waist circumference more often
The more fat you gain the larger your waist goes.Generally in men most of the fat in their body is concentrated in this region. So it is better to keep an eye on it.
2.Keep a track on the rep range
Consider this example, You weigh around 150 lbs right now and say you can bench press with 80 lbs and can do 15 reps. You eat big and gain some weight and say now you weigh 155 lbs.Now if you can perform more than 15 reps say 17 reps or 18 with the same weight, then you are stronger than before and gained some muscle mass of course.
3.Are you looking bigger though you have just added on a few pounds?
Fat occupies more room than muscle. A man weighing 160 lbs and who is around 180 cm tall can look bigger than a man weighing the same and of the same height too.In this case the guy who looks bigger has got a greater body fat percent than the other guy though they weigh the same.So just make sure you don't be very glad if you get bigger by gaining just a few ponds as it is very certain that it is fat.
So how do I prevent gaining a lot of fat?
Keep an eye on your protein intake and when I say proteins it is always complete proteins.Check out this link if you want to know more about what are complete proteins.Aim for 1 gram of protein per pound of your body weight and never skip the strength training sessions. You will gain a little bit of fat even if your protein intake is high and the strength training is in place. So you need not worry about your waist gaining a few inches. You can melt fat after you are done bulking.
